Hi there! Welcome to MIAMI (did you sing it like Will Smith when you read it?)!!! A year ago I visited this amazing city, where I loved the architecture, the contrast between nature, wildlife and citylife, along with the sunny weather (of course), even if it was raining on our first day. Many things can happen in a year but the attractions that I’ll speak about remained unchanged for most.
Day 1: What to see in Miami Beach
As vacations are also great for some relaxing time, first day on Miami beach was just that…relaxing watching the rain falling with a good book, while meeting new friends (little frog there! Isn’t she cute?!). When the storm stopped I couldn’t resist and went outside, and these few minutes’ walk were a complete change of scenery, varying from breathtaking beaches, the light blue sea (almost), and the wildlife. It’s still hard to believe dolphins were that close!
Day 2: Adventure in the Everglades
Let’s drive to Shark Valley that lies in the heart of the Everglades (approximately 1h from Miami). There I rented bikes to be around the impressive ecosystem in this area. Indeed lots of animals and plants live there and if you are as lucky as we were, you’ll see alligators, herons, egrets, turtles, and many other bird species. The heat can be hard to bear (so don’t forget the sunscreen!), but I really enjoyed the view from the observation tower at the halfway point, so my advice to you is to take as many bottles of water as you can and just do it! Also on the way back to Miami, you definitely need to stop at Coopertown Airboat Tour and don’t forget to play it cool as Lieutenant Horatio Caine did in the serie “CSI: Miami”!
Can’t wait to tell you about the rest of the week !
