Hi there, my road trip in Scotland is almost coming to end, but it’s my favourite day of all that I’m sharing with you! The nature around the Loch Maree is unbelievable: the reflexion of the mountains in the loch, the forests where you can discover marvelous view points, and especially this silence, which brings a pure feeling of serenity! And of course, I must add: hiking under a beautiful sun and 20 degrees!
I did two walks during this day:
- The first one was on the edge of Loch Maree. It starts at Slattadale and makes a loop of about 2 hours . Overall this hike is very simple since it’s flat, with the exception of one or two rides.
- The second, called the Woodland Trail, offers a nice walk in the forest. It’s a little harder because you have to climb, but shorter with about 1h-1h30 walk. It’s located just a few minutes from Slattadale, and starts at the parking lot “Coille na Glas Letire Trails”
I drove the rest of the day since I had to go back south and reach Fort William to spend the night. My accommodation was ok, but nothing special, so I’d rather not sharing it. I only want to give you the good deals!
Besides if you had some good tips about Scotland that I didn’t mention, please leave a comment below the article, and share your story with the community.
