Hi there! Let’s bring a bit of culture on the blog , or should I say a bit of history. Indeed I’ll tell you more about Elizabeth Castle! I strongly recommend this visit as it’s one of the must see places in Jersey Channel Islands
Why is Elizabeth Castle a must-see attraction in Jersey?
- If you want to know more about the history of the island, and the history of the castle which protected Jersey for more than 300 years. I’m sure you’ll enjoy a walk around the ramparts and wandering into the buildings. You’ll also learn more about the second world war by visiting the bunkers. Also please take some time to discover my 2 favourite parts of the castle. Indeed, as you’ll climb to the highest tower, you’ll certainly enjoy the panorama. Also the pier and the Hermitage “House “which is high up outside the castle, will show you the castle from a different angle.
- For the breathtaking view of St Helier and St Aubin’s bay!
- If you don’t have that much time to visit Jersey. The castle being next to St Helier, it’s easy to get there. You can either take the boat or walk there at low tide. I took the boat but I think the walk can be really nice too. Please make sure you ask more information regarding the tides at the boat’s kiosk near the Jardin de la Mer.
Hope these following pictures will inspire you to visit the castle!
