Hi there, here is an article that will please the gourmets, as I visited Graindorge, the cheese factory in Livarot! The visit is free and lasts approximately an hour, while you’ll learn a lot about our Norman cheeses!
The visit is a fun and educational, as we discover the whole making process of Norman cheeses as Livarot, Camembert, Neufchâtel and Pont-Lévêque, from where the milk comes from, how it’s elaborated and then packed, to arrive to our plates! You’ll go along a corridor with large windows through which you can see different rooms: laboratories, the one with the machines, but also the one where people manually wrap three to five stem strips around the cheeses … the visit ends with the best part, which of course is, tasting and buying!
